
World Textile India (WTI) 2026 revealed its official logo, kicking off the countdown to a key global trading event for the textile and apparel industry. The first edition will be held from 1 to October 4, 2026, at the Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation (KTPO) located in Whitefield, Bengaluru.
Over four days, the textile, apparel, fashion, retail, entrepreneurs, corporate, business, and international trade mission will be participating to attract all kinds of textile manufacturers, exporters, and fashion designers under one roof to join and explore new business trails across the world.
Driving Innovation, Exports and Global Integration
The World Textile India exhibition is being organized by the Federation of Industries Research and Development (FIORD) with Bharat Udyam Seva Kendra as the nodal agency. It is supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, and the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC).
The unveiling of the logo is part of the wider objective of WTI 2026 – to catalyze consolidating India’s leading position in the global textile trade. WTI 2026 is being promoted as a business platform emphasizing networking, market access, global trade, investment, and technology.
The first edition was held in Bengaluru. The decision to host the premiere edition in Bengaluru was made owing to its established economy, technology, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and overall global business ecosystem. The city aims to serve as a significant convergence for Indian textile players, international buyers, and industry stakeholders.
Global Participation Expected
It is anticipated that the international exhibition will welcome representatives, delegations, and trade organizations from approximately 30 countries. The expected international representation will come from markets including South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and Canada. It is likely that there will be global brands and industry representatives showcasing their products and services.
WTI 2026 is expected to serve as the launch of a broader global campaign, with Indian exhibitors, manufacturers, and brands who took part in Bangalore being able to reach audiences at future WTI editions in the UAE, Malaysia, and Canada in 2026 & 2027.
Fashion Shows and Industry Summits
At World Textile India 2026, there will be a set of programs on fashion, creativity, industry development, and policy.
International Fashion Show
International Fashion Show has been designed to give the world a taste of the latest design concepts. International Fashion Show will also offer a grand Prize of 5 lakh Rs. and the title of International Best Designer of the Year.
Institutional Fashion Show
The budding and well-established Indian designers will get an opportunity to showcase their collection at the Institutional Fashion Show. The programme will offer a 1 lakh top prize along with the Best Indian Designer of the Year Award.
Three International Summits
In addition, the event will feature three international premier summits, with Union Cabinet Ministers, State Ministers, major global industry leaders and experts taking part in an exchange of ideas. Topics of discussion will center on the key issues in the textile & apparel supply chain, sustainability, and technology adoption.
Leaders Highlight Global Opportunities
Addressing the event after the logo launch, Shri K. H. Muniyappa, Minister for Food & Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Government of Karnataka, spoke about the business, technology and industrial strength of Bengaluru. He mentioned that the city had huge potential to host the first edition and felt confident that it would promote business linkages, international trade, and increased international exposure for the Indian textile industry.
Inaugural address by Shri Abdul Rasheed (Retd. IPS), National Vice Chairman: World Textile India is an initiative to provide a platform for the Indian textile sector to reach out to the world. He emphasized the participation of approximately 30 countries and the strategic goal of making Indian textiles more competitive in the global arena.
Discussing the trade facilitation and access to international markets, Dr. Vempalli Amanulla, National Vice Chairman - Trade & Facilitation, said the platform is designed to facilitate business and link up with international brands, buyers and business communities, tap new markets, and promote exports.

A New Chapter for India’s Textile Industry
Now that the official logo has been launched, World Textile India 2026 enters its next stage as it approaches the expo in Bengaluru. The show intends to establish a closer tie between Indian textile industry players and the global marketplace by gathering manufacturers, exporters, designers, brands, buyers, and industry players in one place.
With the October 1 opening date nearing, the Bengaluru edition promises to be an all-important platform for international networking and business development, as well as for promoting innovation and export opportunities in the textile & apparel industry.
